Home Remedies for Beautiful Hair
One of our most popular articles recently was regarding home remedies for putting moisture back in your hair. This was certainly a good one for me as I have dry, and often frizzy hair. I decided to do a bit more research to find even more great tips to help your hair look and feel amazing!
Remove excess product buildup
Many stylists will try to sell you some expensive product to remove the excess product buildup in your hair. Save your money! Add a teaspoon of baking soda to your regular shampoo and it will work wonders. Try this about once a week if you use a lot of extra hair products or once every 2-3 weeks if you don’t add much to your hair.
Wash your hair less
Your hair takes at least a few days to regulate natural oils. Wash your hair less often to help regain your hair’s natural body and luster. If you use a lot of hair products, simply rinse your hair and skip the shampoo. Wash every 2-3 days instead.
Protect your hair before you swim
Summer is coming to an end, but many people still live in warmer climates or swim for fitness. Protect your hair from harsh pool chemicals and salt water by applying a conditioner on wet hair before you swim. This gives your hair something to absorb and protect it before it comes into contact with the pool or ocean water.
Hair moisturizing tips
I found a few more tips to add to our previous article as well.
Suntan Oil I’ve read a lot about using coconut oil, but did you know that many suntan oils will work even better? Suntan oils can act as a deep conditioner for your hair and leave it smelling great too. Leave it in overnight and wash in the morning.
Vitamin E Vitamin E not only helps improve hair moisture, but significantly improves its strength against damage and breakage. Use pop open about 5-6 Vitamin E capsules and combine them with your shampoo. Then wash as usual.
Hot Oil Treatment
This can be another expensive product to buy, but an easy one to replicate at home. Simply put 6 tablespoons of olive oil in a microwave-safe bowl and heat the oil until it is warm (be careful not to let it get too hot). Apply the oil from your scalp to your ends. Wrap with a warm, moist towel for about 30 minutes. Finally, shampoo as usual.
